Movie making - the next adventure!

Having spent the last 20 years or so as amateur photographers, we decided we needed something new to give us a challenge and opportunity to learn new skills, and be something Christine and I could work on together. The answer - let's make movies!

We have dabbled with this on and off in times past, but never with any real focus or sustained effort - so we have just a small number of very amateurish movies that our family suffer occasionally and that will be great to pull out one day when one of the grandsons needs to be embarrassed at their wedding...

However, camera technology and web services have come on so far in recent years that we thought we might try to raise our game - not hard, you might say... Our digital cameras are already capable of very good results, provided you know what you are doing (we don't), so it's only skill and talent that we need to develop, not really acquiring a whole new stable of kit.

Anyway, to cut a long story short we now have a handful of movies that are a bit more interesting (we hope) for a wider audience, and are working on developing a Northandsouthlife channel to showcase them (not that we expect anyone outside of our immediate family and friends to be that interested).

We also happily stumbled on the South Downs Film Makers club based in Ferring near Worthing, so we now have a new set of friends and fellow movie devotees to learn from and share with. As it happens, we even managed to win a prize in one of their recent competitions for a short movie we cobbled together from some footage of pigeons in our back garden. We'll add more about our movie exploits in due course, but in the meantime, here's a taster for your enjoyment (we hope!)
